Guidance notes for Non-European Citizen Applicants not working in a European Country
Since 2025, Non-European citizens NOT working in an European country will be accepted to sit at the Written EBOT Exam upon strict requisites and acceptance from the EBOT Reviewing Committee.

Requisites to register for the EBOT Written Exam for Non-Europeans:

- Completed Orthopaedic training: Department, city, country. Description of training. Head of Department letter confirming training (in English)
- Exit exam of Orthopaedic training: date, outcome, country. Official validation (University, Ministry of Health)
- Authorization to practice Orthopaedic Surgery: Orthopaedic surgery specialist certificate (issued by competent authority) An English translation is required if coming from a Non-European country.
- Affiliation to Orthopaedic Association: name of the association, country, membership certificate issued by association (in English).

Please note that the structured reference forms are available on the EBOT website and have to be uploaded online in order to complete your application. All application documents have to be completed by 4th April at 23:59 CET at the latest.


Withdrawing from the Examination

Written part/section I:
Candidates may withdraw from the written part by cancelling their appointment with Pearson VUE directly. Subject to adhering to the general rules and conditions outlined when booking the seat/online slot, the exam fee will be reimbursed.
