Guidance Notes for Trainees Applicants
Only complete applications will be considered by the Evaluation Committee.

Documentation required for submitting an online application:

Written part/section I:

- Curriculum Vitae
- Copy of passport or ID card
- Two structured references from the head of training at the hospital and from the orthopaedic surgeon responsible for your training

Please note that the structured reference forms are available on the EBOT website and have to be uploaded online in order to complete your application. All application documents have to be completed by 20 March 2024 at 23:59 CET at the latest.

Oral part/section II:

- Copy of Certificate of full qualification as an Orthopaedic Surgeon by the National Authorities (EU Orthopaedic Society)

N.B.: Successful candidates in section 1 are only allowed to proceed with section 2 after successful completion of training. Proof thereof must be provided to the EBOT Administrator (ebotexam@efort.org) prior to the date of the oral exam. The oral section can be taken within the same year, provided that the training is completed, or the following year of the written section. All other delays require the written consent of the EBOT Administrator and can only be granted under exceptional circumstances.

Closing dates will be strictly adhered to. It is the responsibility of the applicant to upload the required information and documentation, without it the application fails.

Resit Candidates
Please note that all resit candidates for the written part must go through the online application procedure again so that the data can be processed. Resit candidates may reuse their previously submitted documentation, however, an updated proof of employment must be provided.

Resit candidates for the oral part do not have to complete the online application form again but must inform the EBOT Administrator if they wish to resit the oral part by 30 June of the respective year at the latest.
Candidates who fail the oral examination may retake this section the following year without having to retake the written section. If the candidate does not retake the oral examination in the following year or fails a second time, then both sections, written and oral, must be taken again and the candidate needs to apply in full again.

N.B.: All applications must comply with the general requirements as stated in the general overview.
